Felix Manalo (Movie)

VIVA Films mounts yet another production of epic proportion as it presents the Felix Manalo biopic earmarked for release in theaters nationwide on October 7 under the direction of multi-award-winning Joel Lamangan.

Top billed by versatile actor-singer Dennis Trillo in the role of Felix Manalo, the First Executive Minister of Iglesia ni Cristo, and Bela Padilla as Honorata, Ka Felix's wife, the monumental film traces the origins and growth of the INC church from its humble beginnings in 1914 through to the present day.

It is brilliantly framed by the life of Felix from the time of his birth in 1886 until his demise in 1963.

Interestingly, Felix Manalo cuts across deeply rooted religions as it relays Ka Felix's trials and tribulations in his search for the true faith. It is an excellent showcase of how one man can overcome challenges about his love of God. The film is essentially a love story between God and man, between Ka Felix and his faith in God, Ka Felix and his wife Honorata and Ka Felix and the Iglesia ni Cristo.

Moviegoers will come to know, through the film, who Ka Felix was as it depicts him like any normal human being -- a dutiful husband and a doting father.

Many artists lend there talents to become part of this biopic, namely Mylene DIzon, Yul Servo, Jaime Fabregas, Sheryl Cruz, Jacklyn Jose, Ricardo Cepeda, TJ Trinidad, Alice Dixon, Arci Munoz, Alfred Vargas, Wendell Ramos, Gabby Concepcion, Allan Paule, Elizabeth Oropesa, Ejay Falcon, Ruru Madrid, Tonton Gutierrez, Raymond Bagatsing, Philip Salvador, Ryan Eigenmann, Bembol Roco, Mon Confiado, Lander Vera Perez, Boy2 Quizon, Snooky Serna, Joem Bascon, Christopher Roxas, Andrea Del Rosario, Glydel Mercado, Andrea Del Rosario, Jon Lucas, Eddie Gutierrez, Richard Yap, Lorna Tolentino, Gladys Reyes, Heart Evangelista, Jon Lucas, Christian Vasquez, Phoem Baranda, Joel Torre, and more.

The film is set to premiere this October 7, 2015, with a premiere night at the Philippine Arena that is set to break a world record for the biggest premiere night of a movie ever.

In the first game of the Thursday action of the NCAA the JRU Heavy Bombers outlasted the Arellano Chiefs 114-112 after 2 overtime.

It was a seesaw battle between the two squads JRU was leading in the last 2 minutes of the game, but the Chiefs were able to tie the game at 87 all with Paolo Pontejos missing the could be winning shot due to a travelling violation pushing the game into overtime.

The game intensifies more as it entered into the first overtime as no team is ready to raise the white flag, another could be winning shot was missed this time on the part of Jovanie Jalalon missing the basket pushing the game into 2nd overtime. In the second overtime Paolo Pontejos poured in several crucial baskets to keep the Heavy Bombers on top despite Zach Nicholls and Jovanie Jalalon's effort to get the lead back to the chiefs.

In the dying seconds of the second overtime Tey Teodoro shoots a perimeter shot that was called for a 3 point shot forcing Jovanie Jalalon to foul Gio Lasquety as JRU leads Arellano 113-112 with 1.4 seconds left, but after the foul was made a review by the officials turns Teodoro's 3 to a 2 point shot as the latter's foot stepped on the line bringing down the score to a tied ball game 112-112 but Lasquety was able to get the two charities given to him sealing the win for the JRU Heavy Bombers.

Paolo Pontejos led the Heavy Bombers with his career high performance of  32 points (He is 11 out of 12 in the 2 pt mark), 8 assists, 4 rebounds and 2 steals. #UAAP78 Line Up: Far Eastern University Tamaraws

The FEU Tamaraws were the favorites to win the title last season as they have the more intact and experienced line up, but after winning the game one of the finals, the Tamaraws collapsed in the next two giving away the could've been 20th title of FEU.

Returning this season 78 the Tamaraws are the early favorites again as they only lost Bryan Cruz and Anthony Hargrove, with a squad consist of national team stalwarts like Mike Tolomia, Russell Escoto, and Mac Belo, plus veterans like Achie Inigo and Francis Tamsi, many touted the Tamaraws as riped enough and already due to a championship title that they had 10 years ago.

#UAAP78 Line Up: De La Salle University Green Archers

The DLSU Green Archers had a good run in Season 77, they almost entered the finals defeating FEU in the game two of their best of three final four duel, but Mac Belo and the rest of the Tamaraws had other plans after they axed the finals dream of La Salle.

This season Jeron Teng and the rest of the Green Archers are eager to get back to the finals, using all ,the lessons they learned in the past season to motivate them, Teng will rely on the help from his young, but talented teammates such as rookie Andrei Caracut, Joshua Torralba, Prince Rivero, Thomas Torres, and Jason Perkins, with the supervision of Coach Juno Sauler La Salle is still a finals contender.

#UAAP78 Line Up: Ateneo De Manila University Blue Eagles

Season 77 was a sorry season for the Blue Eagles, as they go from Hero to Zero after the NU Bulldogs erased their twice to beat advantage and top spot elimination finish to stop them from going back to the finals.

This season 78, graduating phenom Kiefer Ravena will go all out in their campaign this season to reclaim the title. Helping Ravena this season are sets of veterans like Vin Pessumal, Gwynne Capacio and Fonzo Gotladera along with blue chip players like Hubert Cani, Mike and Matt Nieto, Jerie Pingoy, Aaron Black, and Arvin Tolentino, with this kind of line up Ateneo still a contender and a team to beat.

#UAAP78 Line Up: Adamson University Soaring Falcons

Last season 77 the Falcons from Adamson didn't soar high as they were left at the bottom of the standing with a 1-13 record, beating UP who also ended with the same record.  Entering season 78 with a new coach in Mike Fermin and a new set of players, the Falcons aims to return to the final four after missing it for quiet some time now.

With Key Players returning for the team such as Joseph Nallos, Pape Sarr, Jerome Garcia, and Nico Capote, the Falcons aims to atleast improve their record even though they are inexperienced and lacked maturity.

Derek Ramsay, Meg Imperial, and Coleen Garcia stars for the first time in the upcoming romantic drama movie from Star Cinema and Viva Films "Ex With Benefits".

Ex With Benefits circles around the story of former lovers Adam (Ramsay) a 35 year old doctor and Arki (Garcia) a 28 year old Medical Representative, Adam and Arki went to school together and had a very promising love story until Arki suddenly disappeared in the life of Adam.

After almost a decade after they last met Adam and Arki met once again that made all the pains in the past coming back. As they worked with each other, they hide all of their pains and anguish and pretend that all is well after all the years that passed by so they can enjoy the new found company in each other that has no label and no commitment.

But after all their efforts to try to forget all the pains they have been through, what Arki and Adam thought that everything is going back to the way it used to be, secrets from the past returns, causing the two of them to rethink if exes should give their relationship a second chance or should they keep the thing of the past in the past.
