Just when Elmer and Linda are about to reveal their plans and secrets to each other, their small mining community is disturbed by the arrival of an armed group, Patrol Kalikasan, masquerading as environmentalists. The loyalty of Elmer and the small mining community to Kapitana will be tested as they could not produce a permit to mine, even though they have been working the mines since World War II, with no effects of environmental degradation. As Kapitana scrambles to secure a permit to protect her community from the harassment of the armed group, Elmer and the rest of the community struggle to eke out a living, as Patrol Kalikasan settles down in their community, and takes over the mining operations.
The film is about the lives of simple folk caught between the crossfire of Kapitana accused of political patronage, and Patrol Kalikasan using the environment as a front for their own political and economic interests on the small mining community. #MMFF2016 Kabisera

The one and only superstar Ms Nora Aunor returns to the big screen this December 25 as she leads the family drama "Kabisera" to the 45th Metro Manila Film Festival. Kabisera also stars JC De Vera, Jason Abalos, Luis Alandy, Ronwaldo Martin, RJ Agustsin, Perla Bautista, Dennis Marasigan, Alex San Agustin.Victor Neri, and Ricky Davao, directed by Real Florido, produced by Silver Story Entertainment and Fire Starters Production Co.

The center chair of a table, which we call "Kabisera"has been a symbolic seat of power at home. The head of the family is usually the one who is seated on the chair as he/she enjoys the view of the whole family while sharing food and happy stories. But fate could sometimes throw uncertainties. A happy meal might just end up as a long memory from the past.
Honor, Trust, and Loyalty are some values that are tested in this film, as it opens up the imperfections and flaws of every Filipino family today, and how in the end they all stand up to correct these things to settle for what is right and what is important to them.
Inspired by true events , Kabisera is a sociopolitical drama that delves deep into the ill of Philippine Society. Nora Aunor and Ricky Davao star in this story about a seemingly normal family whose lives are placed in danger when they become involved in violent crimes and extrajudicial killings. As a tale of justice and lawlessness unfolds, audiences will find that Kabisera depicts a reality that feels all too familiar today.

#UAAPLXXIX Final Four: Resilient Tamaraws Blast Ateneo’s Twice To Beat

The FEU Tamaraws showed their resiliency over the Ateneo Blue Eagle after completing a 62-61 come from behind victory to force a do or die match this Wednesday, November 30 at the Smart Araneta Coliseum.

The game went close between the two squads, finishing the first quarter tied at 10, and ending the first half at 23-20 in favor of FEU. Going to the second half, the Blue Eagles started to get hot as they take over the game taking a 22-12 quarter out put to get a 42-35 lead.

In the final period, Ateneo continues to command the game, establishing a 10 point lead early in the final period, but the Tamaraws didn’t let the Blue Eagles fly higher as they started to charge in the final period. Slowly but surely Monbert Arong and Raymar Jose erased the deficit and eventually tying the game at 55.

Despite having zero point from the three point area, the Tamaraws were able to bank on their defense that limits Ateneo’s shooting in the final two minutes of the game, giving them the chance to stage a comeback after Monbert Arong tied the game at 55, and Raymar Jose gave the lead back to FEU at 57-55.

Thirdy Ravena tried to carry Ateneo past FEU draining two triples that cuts the lead of FEU down to 1, but time already ran out after the last three pointer he shot.

Raymar Jose saved the day for the Tamaraws having a huge double-doule performance of 20 points and 20 rebounds, Monbert Arong added 13 points, while Prince Orizu had 9 points and 10 rebounds.

#MMFF2016: Seklusyon

One of the eight official entry to the 42nd Metro Manila Film Festival, Seklusyon is a fictional horror-suspense-thriller that tackles the story of deacons on their last day of the journey to become priests, the mysteries and horrifying tests that they will face in a secluded convent will be the center of the story as they meet the "Miraculous" child named Anghela that is being taken care of a mysterious nun. Will the deacons be able to survive the tests? We will all find out this December 25, 2016.

Seklusyon stars Ronnie Alonte, Rhed Bustamante, Dominic Roque, Neil  Ryan Sese, Lou Veloso, Phoebe Walker, Johnvic De Guzman, Elora Espano, Jerry O Hara, JR Versales, Sherry Lara Teroy Guzman. Directed by Erik Matti and produced by Reality Entertainment, Seklusyon will scare you on Christmas Day.

According to the tradition of the catholic church before, deacons have been sent to a remote convent on their last days before becoming a priest to test their will and to abstain them from all kinds of evil, they should not see, hear, and speak evil as it will be a step closer to committing sins and pull them away from the priesthood.

In 1947, a young deacon named Miguel (Ronnie Alonte) was on his way to the sacred convent for a week long retreat as he is just weeks from being ordained, but as he went through the path going to the secluded convent he saw the devastation and the wrath of the second world war had left the town.

Arriving at the convent Miguel met Mang Sandoval (Lou Veloso) the caretaker and three other deacons. All wasn't already well for Miguel when he entered the convent and things gets even worst when a "Miraculous" child named Anghela Santa Ana takes refuge in the convent as it was revealed that the girl they thought to be a messenger of the lord was an exact opposite, bringing confusion and overthrowing the minds of the deacons including Miguel.

The sins of the four deacons that they committed before they entered the seminary started to haunt them as days of their stay in convent passed by, the weakening faith and the suppression of the deacons became very instrumental for Anghela to easily manipulate the deacons, as she spreads evil inside the convent using these things with the help of Cecilia.

Will Anghela be successful in turning the deacons on her side, or will Miguel and the rest of the deacons be able to resist the works of evil and be able to survive the test of faith. Are their prayers enough to save them?

Pinoy Pride 39

One cannot discount the fight in the Filipino heart that enables him to stand up and fight back every time he goes down.
Rising boxers Milan “El Metodico” Melindo and brothers Jason and Albert Pagara are ready to get back in the ring and use their “pusong palaban” as they lead the Filipino fighters in the “Pinoy Pride 39: Road to Redemption” card, happening at the Cebu Coliseum in Cebu City on Saturday (November 26), and airing on free TV this Sunday (November 27) on ABS-CBN at 3:30pm and on ABS-CBN Sports + Action (S+A) at 6:30pm.
Hungry to avenge previous setbacks and to create their own marks in Philippine boxing, the trio looks to end the year on a victorious note as they face formidable opposition. Melindo (33-2; 12 KOs) vows to make the most out of another crack at the title, when he faces a dangerous Thai opponent in Fahlan Sakkreerin, Jr. (31-4; 16 KOs) for the IBF Interim World Jr. Flyweight title. Both Melindo and Sakkreerin are rated in the top 10 of the IBF, sixth and third respectively.

His older brother Jason (39-2-0; 24 KOs), meanwhile, will try to continue his winning ways against Jose “Quiebra Jicara” Alfaro (28-10-1; 24 KOs) from Nicaragua, a former WBA Lightweight champion. Both fighters boast of a 59% knockout rate and going the distance doesn’t seem like an option between them.
“Pinoy Pride 39” is the fifth and final “Pinoy Pride” event this year, which saw the continuous growth of the local boxing scene and its expansion to foreign territories like the Middle East and the USA. A partnership between ABS-CBN Sports and ALA Promotions Inc., “Pinoy Pride” aims to promote and strengthen the sport of boxing in the Philippines by discovering and promoting up and coming fighters in the country.
Will the Philippine contingent triumph on their home soil with Melindo and the Pagara brothers leading the charge?
