#UAAPLXXIX Juniors Basketball Finals Game 2: FEU-FERN Baby Tamaraws Wins The Title


The Far Eastern University FERN Baby Tamaraws swept the defending champions NU Bullpups 81-73 in their best of three finals meeting in the 79th season of the Juniors Basketball of the UAAP. 

The Baby Tamaraws didn’t open the game 2 of the finals, after the Bullpups had a raging 26-15 start, but going to the second period FEU was able to contain the aggressive NU squad after limiting them to just 8 points to cut the deficit down to a 30-34 lead at the end of the half. 

Going to the second half, slowly but surely FEU was able to catch up with the Bullpups entering the third period event tying the game and finally getting the hold of the lead at 51-50. 

Moving to the final period the game became a neck to neck battle between the two squads as the Baby Tamaraws started to become more aggressive as the momentum already shifted on their side, giving the Bullpups a hard time catching up. 

Entering the final minute of the game FEU was able to secure a comfortable 77-71 lead over the Bullpups, with this the Baby Tamaraws were also able to secure their eight championship title in the league. 

LJ Gonzales was named as the finals MVP having 12 points, 3 rebounds, and 6 assists, Kenji Roman added 18 points and 15 rebounds, Rhon Abarrientos had 13 points and Jun Gabane scored 10 points to push FEU to the championship title. 

On the side of the Bullpups, John Lloyd Clemente carried his  p in ouring 26 points in losing efforts.
