Sin Island begins with the exchange of vows between David (Lim) and Kanika (Garcia). David is starting to make name for wedding photography, until one event happens and change the storyline. Kanika is a flight attendant who is cheating on her husband, David. On the other hand, David finds out Kanika’s affair and starts his own affair. One day, Kanika was trying to regain her husband’s trust. From there, Tasha (Hart) will enter and confront Kanika as David’s mistress. _________________________________________
A movie from Gino M. Santos might be the perfect gift for your partner this valentine’s day. Sin Island is different from a any romcom movie that most of us are used to watch. Santos has worked with Garcia in previous Star Cinema films such as “Love me Tomorrow” (2016) and “Ex With Benefits” (2015). What makes this movie for you to like it is that you will loved how the actors and actresses portrayed their roles. I liked this movie so much because the plot of the movie was good the twists and turns of events were unexpected, though it was a light drama, the comedy factor was there and Sin Island has something different to offer for the audience. There might be awkward scenes in the movie, but for me I guess it was necessary as it made the movie more beautiful.
Throughout the movie, I didn’t get bored and definitely the is dull moment because it has this factor that will send you into different emotions and leave you at the edge of your seat. Over all the story was good, it will let you feel you took a roller coaster ride. This movie might be R-16, but this movie will surely make some noise in Philippine entertainment and hopefully it will be a box office hit. Xian Lim despite having its first dark romance movie he made sure that he delivers well as this character of David was far more different from other characters he portrayed in his past movies. Lim is hot as expected, he nailed his first ever mature role as David. I enjoy his character coz most of us I believe known a character like David in real life. I’ve seen Xian in different movies and I must say his role as David is one of the best. Coleen Garcia is alluring as Kanika. I just love how Garcia uses her gorgeous face and sexy body to deliver the lines of Kanika, it is as if it was her and well I guess with the she was able to own up the character. Coleen's compelling attractiveness heated those confrontation with Tasha in this movie as again it adds up to the fire and made the movie sizzle. I myself couldn’t help on how Nathalie Hart delivers an exceptional performance. Tasha is an all-in-one character, she has this one-liners that is something to look forward in this movie. I liked how Nathalie played her role, it was natural that everybody will love to see on the big screen, she's limitless and she is the next big thing. There’s heated confrontation between Coleen and Nathalie that I believe was really difficult to execute and I commend the two ladies for giving such a brilliant performance their acting prowess was superb. Meanwhile, the intimate moments between Kanika and David, and David and Tasha will surely heat up the audience feelings it was masterfully done and well executed with taste and not just for the sake of having those scenes to make the movie "sexy". . Star Cinema’s Sin Island gives you a different treat and experience this Valentine’s Day this February, it is worthy of your time, money and effort. It’ll let you enter a dark and steamy Valentine’s Day. Rating: 9/10
